*hangs head in shame*
I have hit rock bottom. I am lost. It is hopeless. I... played in a Vampire: the Masquerade LARP last night.
A number of people have been badgering me to come out to this LARP for a long time. Fine, I figured, I'd give them their "once". I started working on a character with the ST, but because I have just about as much interest in learning a new RPG system -- especially a LARP system -- as I do masturbating with fine-grit sandpaper, I asked the ST to finish it for me. Which he did.
So I came up with a personality that I secretly hoped would get me shunned or killed on the first night: Danny, a shady, secretive, abrasive New Yorker that wanted everyone to trust him even though he gave them no reason to do so. Danny, just Danny, who wouldn't come out and say that he's an Anarch because he doesn't like putting labels on things. Same with what clan he's from, 'cuz it don't much matter anyway, you know?
*deep sigh*
It didn't work. Even the Gangrel seemed to approve of Danny -- or, at least, didn't immediately want to kill him. Heck, the cute little Gangrel girl even seemed to take a liking to Danny.
So, despite my best efforts... I actually had fun.
The question is whether I will go again or not. Well, there's debate as to whether the game is going to stay in Orange or move to Glendale. If it stays in Orange, I can see myself going again. If it goes to Glendale? Neh, I'll stay home and play LA by Fire. |
